I travel to my clients. There is no need to come to my studio to have your portrait made. All of my portrait work since 2006 has been done on location or at the client's site. I am able to produce outstanding portraits at any location, so there is no need for a physical studio. If you want your portrait to look like one of my "Steadman's Studio Style" portraits (with black background), I can do that at your location. If you want your portrait to show you in your home or work or ranch environment or outdoors, I can do that at your location.
What locations?
I have photographed cowboys and cowgirls roping cattle on remote ranches, professional chefs in commercial kitchens, equestrians in barns and stables and jumping in horse arenas, CEOs in boardrooms and offices, athletes in large sports arenas, bull riders in rough stock chutes at rodeos, trick riders flying by me while I was standing in the middle of a large rodeo arena in front of thousands of spectators, actors and ballet dancers onstage and backstage, pianists at a concert piano, writers at their desks, a poet at a book signing in a book store and at her home, religious leaders in churches and temples, children at play outside, musicians in a club, DJs at crowded and dark dance clubs, business owner at his store, teachers with students, children wake boarding behind a speeding boat, sailors at a boat's helm while on the open ocean near icebergs, cowboys on horseback on their ranches, fox hunters jumping over fences, welders at work, fishermen on their boats while I flew overhead in a small plane just a few feet above the water, chiropractor with his patient, dentists at their office, commercial fishermen tending their nets on a dock, street vendor chefs outside, civic groups marching in a parade, and families or individuals at their homes. Some of those portraits are shown in this website's gallery.
I have traveled to and photographed people from the Far East to the American West to Newfoundland Canada.
I currently live in Texas, but am willing to travel to any location. Contact me via email to learn more.
Yes. I have photographed many different things that are not people. This includes expensive diamond jewelry for a jeweler, high fashion for a magazine, interiors (architecture and design) for a magazine, gourmet foods for professional chefs and a magazine, antique and modern cars for collectors, horses for trainers, street life scenes for a magazine, paintings for artists, flowers for florists, etc. If you have a special need, let me know.
In addition, I have a very large portfolio of fine art images of seashells and flowers. But you will only see a few of those images online at this time. The same goes for my original paintings, which are not shown at this time on this site.
At this time and on this website you won't see this kind of work displayed, except for a few samples. My artistic focus is generally on people, so that is what I present to the public. Commercial work is something I have done, but not how I present myself to the world.
All of my work is done on a custom basis, designed to please the client. There is no set price list, because I prefer to work very differently with my photography clients and subjects. If you have an interest in my services, and like my work, you should contact me so we can discuss your idea or needs. I am happy to speak with potential clients, and there is no pressure. I enjoy it. If you have questions, we can talk about it in a free, no-commitment free consultation. I do this with every potential client to make sure I clearly understand what they would like to have me make for them. I have many Verbatim Testimonial Letters and Comments from clients who enjoyed our consultation too, and were very happy with the end results. I don't use manipulation or bait-and-switch or false pricing. I prefer to work with my clients to get something special for them, and no two clients or subjects are the same. I encourage you to speak with me to discuss what you would like for you or your family or your business.
Yes! My photos start off as a Full Color photo, that I convert to Black & White and then I tone or change to a tint or color I like or that my client's prefer. Much of my work is Warm Toned Black & White photographs. Most of my work in the American West series (cowboys, horses, horse sports) is in a very special custom Warm Tone I created for that series of photographs. That was done because I intend to create some books that will feature those photos, and I wanted a consistent look to go with my themes for the books. When a client wants Full Color, I can make that. When a client wants what I call Classic Black & White, I can provide that too. While I am flexible, most of my clients not only like my Warm Toned images as prints, they prefer and choose that too. The choice is yours.
No. While I have photographed brides and weddings in the past, it is not my focus. While I am happy to make a special portrait of a bride, I am not available for weddings, due to the need to be committed to a date as much as a year in advance and the time required of me.
Yes. Contact me via email so we can arrange a phone conversation to discuss what you have in mind, the location, and what you need.
